The Oxford Diamond Divas organization was formed in the winter of 2017 and has achieved remarkable growth and success since its beginning. What started with just 31 girls and a need for virtually everything has continued to grow year after year, bringing with it an increasing need for dedicated volunteers. This section of our website is devoted to recognizing those individuals who have given their time, effort, and passion so selflessly to support the organization. These are the people who stepped up without ever being asked and who truly lived by the motto, “It’s for the girls.”

David Flynn
David Flynn was an exceptional volunteer whose dedication played a vital role in the success of our organization. Guided by his philosophy, “it’s for the girls,” David took complete ownership of all field maintenance and ensured the playing surfaces were always safe, clean, and game-ready. His commitment went far beyond expectations—he even built his own field drags to make sure the job was done right. David’s selfless work ethic, creativity, and unwavering focus on providing the best possible experience made a lasting impact, and our organization is stronger because of his efforts. One last thing, David was also an excellent coach who helped lead his teams to multiple tournament wins a year.
Shannon Van Zyl
Shannon Van Zyl has been an essential part of the Oxford Diamond Divas’ success from day one, contributing her time, talent, and heart to nearly every aspect of the organization. She has worn countless hats, serving as the organization’s photographer, party planner, graphic designer, back-office organizer, and an active, engaged board member. Behind the scenes and in the spotlight, Shannon’s creativity, organization, and dedication have helped shape the Divas into what they are today. Her willingness to step in wherever needed and her commitment to the girls and the mission have made a lasting impact, and the organization would not be where it is without her.

Junior Ortega
Junior Ortega has been a tremendous contributor to the success of the Oxford Diamond Divas, consistently bringing a forward-thinking mindset and a willingness to do whatever was needed to keep the organization running smoothly. He never waited to be asked to volunteer; instead, Junior saw what needed to be done and took the initiative to handle it. His proactive approach, reliability, and problem-solving attitude made a meaningful difference behind the scenes and helped ensure everything operated efficiently. Junior’s dedication and selfless commitment have left a lasting impact on the organization and exemplify what it means to truly support the mission.
